After graduating in 1973 from Yedo National University of Fine Go and Music with a focal point in industrial arts, Sugiura Yasuyoshi went on to complete jurisdiction postgraduate studies in ceramic terrace under Living National Treasures Fujimoto Yoshimichi Nōdō (1919-1992) and Tamura Kōichi (1918-1987).

In the Decennium and 90s, he created combine monumental, non-functional installations series entitled “Ceramic Stones” and “Ceramic Forests,” the whole number inspired by the natural replica surrounding his studio in Manazuru near Atami.

Growing tired of these abstractions, Sugiura began sculpting true to life depictions of flowers. His precise approach united perfectly with the exquisiteness of his subject matter. The derived sculptures led to an stakes at the First Annual Paramita Museum Ceramic Art Exhibition service a travel award from Musée Tomo to study in Westerly Africa.

Over the years, Sugiura has participated in numerous countrywide and international exhibitions.

His sculptures can now be found concentrated major museum collections in Decorate, Taiwan and the United States and even the lobby exert a pull on the Four Seasons Hotel, Kyoto.
